There was demand for it. A short film to get acquainted with Jeel al Amal. And here it is. Images from 1984 and recent material were combined to create a captivating clip.

You see and hear founders Alice and Basil Sahhar at the construction of the school building as well as Rana Faroun, who is the current principal of that same school. You follow Majdi Selwadi, one of the supervisors in Jeel, when he was a boy in the old house and you see him the way he is right now. Based on his own experience he supports the young generation. The hope is kept alive.

















It has become a dream of a film. In no more than four minutes you are completely at home in Jeel al Amal. You can feel that it is all about the children. You can sense the atmosphere of care and warm heartedness, that has been there through the years. And the photograph of Basil at the end is splendid, so full of love.

We congratulate Spektor with this professional production. They did it for us at very low cost. Praise goes to Ted Alkemade, who chose and combined the images and provided them with his own music. And of course thanks to the friends of Jeel al Amal who donated the funds.

And admire the lovely and colourful new kindergarten, almost finished (top). We still have to add the plants and to colour the walls (down).
