TRAINING IN RAP MUSIC

BY  'MUSICIANS WITHOUT BORDERS'

It was quite a new experience for the children of Jeel al Amal. Three weeks training in rap music by Musicians without Borders. Three consecutive weeks two trainers came for a two day training course.

The lyrics of the songs were written by the children themselves. They were supposed to talk about their life, their experiences and feelings.

At the end of the training there was a party where the children performed. Fabienne van Eck and two Dutch rap singers from Musicians without Borders came along and also performed. The children's interaction exceeded our expectations.

I am expecting to be the engineer

I am expecting one day to be the engineer

To represent peace

To be the key - to be the word

To be love and Harmony

To be life and No to slackening

I was and I was

And I am dreaming

And those all are my dreams

My dream

My dream is big

My dream is near

I love to play

I love to draw

With my friends Samer and Jaber

My friends, my childhood, my stories.

Strange feeling that all is near

I will not stay far nor poor.

I tried and I continue trying

I tried and I continue trying

And some thought I am different,

Many thought I am weird.

When I am alone

I think

I am in pain

Where am I

Where are my brothers and uncles.

Those were some of the lyrics

that appear in the video.
